ARTIST RESIDENCY IN PSKOV
Barbara Pease aka Babs was the recipient of the artist-in-residence travel bursary 2019 from the Friends of Pskov. The bursary enabled her to attend the 11th International Plein Air in Pskov and Izborsk from 18 until 29 June 2019. During her residency Babs took over our brand-new Instagram account bringing us stories, colours and sunshine from the magical woodlands of Izborsk just outside of Pskov. Upon her return to Perth, Babs met at Threshold artspace for a chat with Meg Luckins – one of the founding members of our Friends of Pskov Association.
Watch this brief 3-part interview and learn about the sense of adventure and liberation Babs felt during her artist’s residency. Follow her vivid reportage of participating in the spectacular Hansa Days in Pskov. See some of the watercolours she created in Izborsk and Pskov. Stay tuned for news about Babs’ forthcoming exhibition at Threshold artspace inspired by her Pskov experience which we have been developing with our friends at Horsecross Arts as part of our ongoing Perth, Pskov and Tartu: Twin Cities project.
